What the day is like

RANCHO MACAO.

• You drive your own buggy on dirt trails
• You cool off in a cenote
• You relax on Macao Beach
• You taste coffee, cacao and mamajuana in a traditional Dominican house

You leave the hotel and come back with a day full of good memories.

1. Pickup point. I’ll arrange your pickup at your hotel, or at the nearest meeting point. I’ll pick you up at your hotel, or at the nearest point if you’re staying elsewhere. The ride is in a safari truck.
2. The ranch. The Ranch: the Adventure begins. This is where it starts. The trails of Rancho Macao and the countryside, from behind the wheel.
3. The house. The Dominican coffee and cacao house. Coffee, chocolate and mamajuana, right where they’re made. You taste them on the spot.
4. The cave. The cave and the spring. You go down a flight of steps to the spring. Fresh water, cool and clear, to wash off the trail dust.
5. The beach. Macao beach. The ride ends facing the sea at Macao. Cold drinks and sand to stay a while.

How long does it take?

About 3 hours in total. This time includes the pickup at your hotel and the three stops.

What happens if the buggy stops on the trail?

You are never alone. A guide drives in front of the group and two staff members follow behind. If your buggy stops, someone from the team is always close to help you.

Is there transport from the hotel?

Yes. I pick you up at your hotel and take you back at the end. If you are not staying at a hotel, we agree on a pickup point near you.

What is the minimum age?

Children can join from 8 years old.

Will I get dirty?

Yes, it is part of the adventure. If it rained in the days before, there is more mud. You do not go back to the hotel dirty: after the mud comes the cave, and you can wash there.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes. You can cancel at no cost up to 24 hours before the activity.
